On Friday, there was a free practice as usual. Organizers decided to sugar the track one week before the race and traction was huuuge! In the end of the day both my XB8´17 and XB8E were on top.
Unfortunately on Saturday morning, there was big rain, but then the sun came out and track got quickly dry. However all traction was gone and that changed everything â¦
In 1/8E Martin Bayer easily secured overall TQ ahead of Jiri Mara and me!
In 1/8IC Martin was on different level and TQed all three rounds to take the overall TQ! However behind him, it was a battle for 2nd place â“ 2nd overall after qualifications finished again Jiri Mara, Peter Lonscar finished 3rd, I was 4th and Max Gotzl 5th!
After qualifications there was another rain which again changed the grip quite a lot.
In A1 of 1/8E, I chose wrong tires and hardly managed to stay in TOP 5. In A2, I got taken out twice in first lap and was dead last, but made it back to 5th place. Martin won both finals and took the overall win, congrats! In A3, it was a battle between Martin, Jiri and me for the win and in the end it was Jiri, who took the win in the final leg.

| In 1/8IC, my semifinal worked out quite well and I lined up 3rd for the main final with Martin securing pole position! In the final, Martin checked out quickly and had his own race, I made a few mistakes in the opening laps and had to work my way back. Soon I was back in 3rd, but ran out of time to catch 2nd driver. Martin took his 2nd win of the day with more than lap ahead of 2nd driver! |
